Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Overview
Houston is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app runs entirely on your Mac and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No analytics or telemetry
- No crash reporting sent to external services
- No tracking pixels or advertising identifiers
- No personal information (name, email, location)
- No usage data or behavioral profiling
What Houston Accesses Locally
Houston reads and writes macOS user preferences (NSUserDefaults / plist files) to apply your chosen settings. This data never leaves your computer. Specifically, Houston may access:
- System preference domains (e.g., com.apple.dock, com.apple.finder)
- Application preference files for supported apps
- Wallpaper files stored locally on your Mac
Full Disk Access
Some features benefit from Full Disk Access to read certain preference files. This permission is optional and only used locally to display current setting values. No data accessed through this permission is transmitted externally.
License Verification
Houston may contact our licensing server to validate your purchase. This request contains only your license key — no other personal information is transmitted. No account creation is required.
Third-Party Services
Houston does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services.
Data Storage
Houston stores your profiles and configuration locally in the app's sandboxed container on your Mac. This data is not synced to any cloud service and is fully under your control.
Children's Privacy
Houston does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no data from any user, this is inherently the case.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
